Ellen Allan's
Quick Tip Co-op
Tips on just about anything!
Tip of the week
Life is no dress rehearsal.
Don't wait until you are old
to use this tip!
Try it, magical things will happen!
You don't even have to forward
this tip to 15 friends within 10
minutes in fear of your ears
falling off, which leads me to
another tip. Ears are attached
really well!  Did you know that
Vincent van Gogh cut his ear off
possibly because there was lead
in his paints which made him a
little nutty?  There is more to his
story, but remember lead can be
toxic and VERY bad for ears.
Bio- Ellen Allan
During Ellen Allan's over twenty-year career in the show-business realm as a
professional stage, television and motion picture costume maker, cutter- fitter and
designer of specialty costumes, Ellen picked up many tips and tricks along the
way.  Ellen’s credits include working along side designer Colleen Atwood on such
memorable projects as “Gattaca” with Uma Thurman and Ethan Hawke, Tom
Hanks’ “That Thing You Do” and the remake of the cult-classic “Planet of the
Apes”.  Ellen has managed the workroom for Bob Mackie, a high fashion designer
as well as costume designer extraordinaire (ex: Cher, Delta, Whoopie, Bette.)

Ellen’s other motion picture credits include building costumes for “The
Flintstones”, Gremlins II”, “Stuart Little” and “What’s Love Got To Do With It”.  She
even researched the makeup and horse markings for the Oscar winning film
“Dances with Wolves” and built 16th Century period costumes for “Bruno’s
Shadow”.

Her television credits include “Ally McBeal”, “Third Rock From The Sun”, (Emmy
Certificate),"Boy Meets World" and “That 70’s Show”.  Her commercial and music
video credentials span the gamut from Toyota, GTE and several McDonalds spots
(in one commercial she built an 8-foot dragon) to Janet Jackson, Ozzy Osborn and
even an Andy Williams project.

Together with her long time friend Monica Heeren, they created a local craft show
named
Two Crafty Ladies, which aired for two years.  Since then she has
appeared on several
HGTV Carol Duvall shows demonstrating several different
crafts.  She has also appeared on
DIY Weekend Entertaining as a craft expert.
She has been published in various craft and sewing magazines.

Together with her husband of over 20 years and her daughter, Ellen loves to
travel.  Mostly because every time she travels to another country she appreciates
America even more.  After running two successful referendums to stop a giant
development project and troubled by the city council's disregard for school
aftercare programs, Ellen was inspired to run for Mayor!  She lost the primaries by
one vote!

Today Ellen enjoys her family, dogs, and community.
